Peaceful village streets, strengthening sunshine, shady
forest paths are all well known characteristics of Szentbékkálla, but this
village and the Káli Basin offers even more than that. This region belongs to
the Mediterranian, therefore the almonds and figs are native here. The local
wine-growers produce excellent white wines on the surrounding volcanic hills. It
is the walkers, the riders and the cyclists for whom the landscape really opens
up. It is a special experience to take a walk among the house-sized rocks of the
Sea of Stones or to enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Upper Balaton Region
from Keszthely till Tihany after having climbed up between the vineyards of the
Old Mountain to the Eötvös view-point on the Black Mountain plateau.
Szentbékkálla is an ideal starting point for bicyle and car
tours and for walkers of the Upper Balaton Region.
